JOB TITLE: Manager, CareSite Pharmacy LOCATION: Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center DEPARTMENT: CareSite Pharmacy WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time (1.0 FTE, Exempt)
JOB SUMMARY: Manages CareSite Pharmacy by coordinating the supervision, planning, and administration of retail pharmaceutical services within a medical clinic. Functions as the pharmacist at CareSite Pharmacy. Assumes overall responsibility of the pharmacy, including, but not limited to, scheduling, inventory control, marketing, finance, daily and month ending business reconciliation. Assumes overall responsibility for filling and checking daily orders. Implements all policies at the Pharmacy and makes necessary suggestions in making new policies pertaining to Pharmacy. Serves as a link between Geisinger Clinic management and staff at the Pharmacy.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess clinical knowledge to assist physicians in appropriate drug therapy. Possess compounding knowledge for difficult and uncommon prescriptions. Must be able to perform many tasks simultaneously, work as a team member and delegate responsibility to staff members. Strong customer service skills a must to develop this business.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college and current licensure by the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy required. Must complete the requirements for continuing education credits as mandated by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy to maintain current Pennsylvania pharmacy license. Minimum of three years experience in managing a retail pharmacy required and prior experience with computers preferred. Bachelors of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college and current licensure by the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy required. Must complete the requirements for continuing education credits as mandated by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy to maintain current Pennsylvania pharmacy license. Three years experience in managing a retail pharmacy required and prior experience with computers preferred. Entrepreneurial abilities are sought and encouraged.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in a pharmacy setting. Requires ability to stand and be on feet for prolonged periods of time.
