Under the direction of the pharmacist on duty, the pharmacy technician will be assisting the pharmacist on duty in answering phone calls, processing new and refill prescriptions, using the current pharmacy software system. The technician will assist in counting out prescriptions as well as running the cash register in absence of the pharmacy clerk or when extra help is needed. The technician will help with OTC and RX purchases, recalls, outdates and keeping the vials and bottles stocked for appropriate use. The technician will help with prior authorizations, doctor faxes and phone calls and communication with patients upon a problem or delay in filling their order. The technician will assist the pharmacist and clerk in keeping the pharmacy running smoothly and professionally performing needed functions assigned throughout the day.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience in a retail pharmacy setting, preferred.
Education/License/Certification: Graduated from a Pharmacy Technician program. CA Pharmacy Technician license, required.
