Under general supervision, assist the pharmacist to fill physician's orders, select, assemble, and place medications for inpatient and/or outpatient services. A Pharmacy Technician II must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician. The Pharmacy Technician II will have a variety of job responsibilities within the inpatient or outpatient pharmacy that may encompass a variety of activities.
Assists the pharmacist in the preparation of medications to patients
Assures the accurate and timely distribution and receiving of medications, IV solutions, floorstock, and controlled substances
Responsible for accurate charge/credit functions for inpatient/outpatient medications
Assists in the education and precepting of new pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students, PI activities
Assist other hospital staff with medication/pharmacy related issues via phone calls or in person
Assist in management of computer Inbasket messages
Pharmacy Tech Requirements
High School Diploma / GED
Pharmacy Technician certification
Prefer experience in acute care setting
