The Pharmacy Technician position oversees the prescription filling process from receipt of a raw order all the way up to the check-ready phase as well as all of customer service and back-office support functions that support it.
Answers phones and waits on customers that come in to the store
Assists customers in dropping off and picking up prescriptions and other merchandise
Intakes prescriptions needing to be filled from various avenues and initiates the filling workflow processes
Participates in ensuring the workflow queues reflect reality
Data enters prescriptions, counts/pours medication into vials, labels, & prepares for pharmacist check
Troubleshoots and resolves claim rejections; contacts payer and patients as needed
Places medication orders as needed to complete order fulfillment
Makes outbound calls to patients as needed to coordinate services
Screens calls for pharmacist
Accrues charges for patient billing in the AR component of the software
