This position is responsible for the coordination of the overall operations of the pharmacy. Duties include, but are not limited to: Liaison with the pharmaceutical supplier(s) for the facility, maintaining medical and drug supplies, preparation and distribution of medications, charting medications, and maintenance of patient medical records.
This position has physical requirements which may include but are not limited to pushing heavy carts (push weight approx. 5-25 lbs.); standing for long periods of time; bending, lifting up to 40lbs, stooping, and turning during filling of patient medication orders; and walking to deliver medications at least 3 times per day. Applicants may be required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
Minimally qualified candidates will have:
Experience or training as a Pharmacy Technician in a hospital, long term care facility, school or retail setting (i.e., preparing and administering medications, etc.)
Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
Excellent communication skills
In addition, well qualified candidates will have:
Current Pharmacy Technician Certification
Experience or training utilizing pharmacy software and/or prescription systems
Experience working as apart of an multidisciplinary team
Experience working in a secure setting (i.e., correctional institution, hospital, treatment facility, etc.)
Ability to work independently, organizing tasks and setting priorities using effective time management skills
Additional Salary Information: Shift differential for hours worked after 6:00 p.m. and weekend differential for hours worked on weekends. This position is not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which means you will be paid or will receive compensatory time off at time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a work week.
Eligible employees will receive a 2% base salary increase in January 2019.
