This newly created role will support our specialty pharmacy, Kootenai Clinic, Kootenai Care Network, and any other ambulatory pharmacy services.
As the Director of Ambulatory Pharmacy Services, you will be responsible for establishing and planning the overall policies, procedures, and goals for the Kootenai Health retail and specialty pharmacy, Kootenai Clinic, Kootenai Care Network and any other ambulatory pharmacy services. You will maintain contact with other department heads, medical staff, and clinical staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy.
Some of the core focuses for this role include; Completing in progress URAC accreditation, Epic implementation, and Drug Library Maintenance.

Requirements for the position include:
PharmD or Rph with master’s degree required
Licensed or eligible for licensure in ID
7 years’ experience in health system pharmacy, required, ambulatory experience preferred
Prior experience in pharmacy leadership required
Strong understanding of financial, quality and regulatory implications of ambulatory pharmacy
Ability to communicate pharmacy strategy and operational requirements across disciplines and to physicians, leadership and other partners
Robust understanding of 340B and its implications in all ambulatory pharmacy operations
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations in the ambulatory pharmacy environment
Current experience with Pharmacy IS, Fiscal Management, and system level change management.
