Looking to hire a full-time Pharmacy Technician licensed in the state of California. Someone who is dedicated, friendly, energetic, and detail-orientated.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions and updating patient profiles under direct Pharmacist's supervision, based on the extent allowable by State/Federal law.
Retrieves, pours, counts, labels and reconstitutes prescription medications.
Access, input, and retrieve information on the pharmacy computer system in order to maintain accurate records and create labels for prescriptions, which includes typing dosage instructions, name of the drug, and quantity as required by abbreviated or symbolized information written on physicians' orders.
Obtains authorization for refills from prescribers.
Receive and stock prescription drugs and supplies.
Pack and ship completed orders including printing and affixing appropriate labels.
Counts stock and enters data into computer to maintain inventory records for pharmacy.
Follows proper pharmacy and general safety and security procedures and processes.
Assisting the Pharmacist or manager with projects as needed.
Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Other duties as assigned concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.
Must be at least 18 years of age or older
High School Diploma or GED
Valid California Board of Pharmacy Technician License
Proficient in English, verbal and written communications skills, and pharmaceutical calculations
Must be able to type and accurately perform computer entry
Excellent customer service skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and set priorities
Associate Degree in Pharmacy Technology
Familiarity with CPR+ software
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Standing for sustained periods of time
Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for moving from one work area to another
Picking, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than whole hand or arm
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed accurately
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection involving small parts
Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs; exerting up to 30 lbs of force occasionally and/or up-to 10 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
