Under general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and according to established policies and procedures, supervises the routine daily duties of the pharmacy staff and is responsible for managing clinical activities in the department. The Clinical Manager ensures that the staff provides optimal drug distribution which meets all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, codes, and standards. Attends Hospital committee meetings as necessary.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ï¿½ Assist Director of Pharmacy in the day to day operations of managing dept
ï¿½ Supervise & coordinate pharmaceutical care responsibilities
ï¿½ Plan and schedule work for the practice area
ï¿½ Manage staff development activities
ï¿½ Participate in the recruiting & selection of staff.
ï¿½ Ensure compliance with all regulatory practice standards
ï¿½ Maintain interface with medical & nursing staff to provide regular information
ï¿½ Evaluate staff compliance with dept policy
ï¿½ Suggest performance improvement plans and assist with implementation
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
ï¿½ Pharm D preferred
ï¿½ Three years of progressive responsible experience in a general hospital setting
ï¿½Critical care and antimicrobial stewardship experience preferred
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification
ï¿½ MA Pharmacist License
ï¿½Board certification in pharmacy specialty preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
ï¿½ Ability to communicate clearly in oral & written form
ï¿½ Extensive knowledge of drug products, medical therapeutic pharmacokinetics, and disease states. Ability to work with information systems, automated and technical equipment.
ï¿½ Ability to establish & maintain working relationships with various members of the health care teams.
ï¿½ Exposure to potentially hazardous chemicals. Required to follow proper OSHA safety standards and techniques.
