You Will Be Responsible For:
Collaborate with facility Director(s) and Sr. Manager to achieve stated goals and accountabilities for automation technicians throughout the year.
Report individual and departmental metrics and accountabilities on a monthly basis and as requested, including manual pick station audits, canister performance and technician performance.
Responsible for in depth understanding of pharmacyâ™s services; articulates to supporting staff to assure goals are met with increased safety and efficiency.
Work within mandated registered pharmacy technician scope of practice guidelines when answering medication and operation related questions.
Lead staff to execute processes and procedures effectively, providing leadership and guidance on prescription automation throughput, medication inventory, pharmacy processes and additional training as necessary.
Responsible for introductory and annual evaluations of all new hires/transfers into the automation, promoting employee growth and development.
Determine daily goals and specific duty assignments for automation staff and monitor prescription workflow queues and automation billboard for appropriate and timely follow through.
Conduct extensive interviews for new hire recruitment ensuring the right person is hired based on qualifications and skillset as they would fit best within the organization.
Maintain solid vendor relationships by conducting business interactions with speed, knowledge and professionalism.
Maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition, handles stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization.
Responsible for the integrity of patient sensitive material included in prescription orders ensuring no violation of patient protected health information.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelorâ™s degree in Healthcare, Business or related field
5 years retail, specialty, central fill or mail-order pharmacy technician experience.
Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:
A current Florida Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration, RPT; must complete state required continuing education requirement for registration.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to provide oral and written communication using sensitivity, good judgment and a caring attitude to be displayed; providing an uplifting (yet realistic) outlook on what the future holds and the opportunities it may present.
Expected to communicate consistently in a positive and professional manner, giving accurate information to all external as well as internal customers.
Demonstrates ability to interpret prescription and has knowledge of the generic names of medications and medical terminology; has a vast understanding of mathematical principles to calculate daysâ™ supply.
Ability to disengage angered customer and convert a negative communication to a positive and helpful exchange.
Effectively manages one's time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently. Intermediate to advanced skill set in MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
The Pharmacy Automation Manager is responsible for all activities regarding the Rx Plus Pharmacy automation staff. This position coordinates the day to day activities of the technician prescription fulfillment processes to assure timely completion in accordance to the Pharmacyâ™s stated goals. The Pharmacy Automation Manager hires, trains and manages members of the automation department and is required to understand all pharmacy processes excluding Pharmacistâ™s duties. This position resolves difficult issues regarding fulfillment, medication stock and other matters that require sensitivity and speed.
