Overview Are you interested in the healthcare industry and not sure where to take your career? We are seeking new pharmacy technicians to join our inpatient team no experience needed! As a pharmacy technician you will contribute to a high performing, patient focused team that demonstrates a mastery of skills in sterile compounding and medication management with a primary focus on meeting the needs of hospital units by anticipating demands. M Health Fairview is the newly expanded academic health system developed from a shared drive to discover a better way to deliver breakthrough care closer to home. M Health Fairview is a collaboration among the University of Minnesota, University of Minnesota Physicians, and Fairview Health Services. Our partnership combines the Universitys deep history of clinical innovation and training with Fairviews extensive roots in community medicine. Together, were expanding access to world-class, patient-centered care through our 10 hospitals and 60 clinics. Upon hire, you will complete our in-house Pharmacy Technician (Tech 240) training program. This on-site training will occur at one of our inpatient hospital settings. The six week paid on-the-job training course provides the skills, knowledge and requirements necessary to be successful in the role of an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Fairview. Part of your Tech 240 program will be spent with the Fairview Pharmacy Services training teams at our corporate office in a combination of classroom and hands-on training. The remaining weeks of your training program are completed on-site with the pharmacy leadership team. During this time you will learn about medications, medication safety, basic calculations and collaborate with peers on various activities and complete a final project to present. Upon completion of the program you would be eligible to apply to open technician positions across the MHealth Fairview system. Registered or ability to become registered as Pharmacy Technician with the MN State Board of Pharmacy. Nationally certified or certified within 12 months of employment. Certifying exams must have National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation, with examples including Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam and The Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
