This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Learn more The Pharmacy Department at the Columbia Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina is actively recruiting for a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (CPS) assigned to practice at the Mental Health Anderson Community Based Outpatient Clinic. This CPS will function at the highest level of clinical practice, providing comprehensive medication management working under a global scope of practice in Mental Health as defined by the medical center that is consistent with policies established at the national, VISN, and local levels. The CPS must be capable of using professional judgment and clinical expertise to solve complex problems and to provide clinical information to both providers and Veterans. Candidates should have experience in managing medication regimens for patients with mental illness including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, pain and substance use disorders, among others. This position requires the ability to perform extensive documentation and clinical progress note writing. CPSs are employees of Pharmacy Service and are tasked with upholding the department missions and goals, especially regarding the VA National Formulary, VISN and local medical center Pharmacy Benefits Management Committee objectives for formulary management activities and patient safety.
