Under the direction of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy TechnicianIis responsible forday-to-day comprehensive pharmacytechnicianservices in a complexhealthcare environment. This includes the processing of orders and the preparation and delivery of medications.
ThePharmacy Technicianwillskillfully use interpersonal, customer service, problem solving and collaboration skills to support and influence operational objectives.
This position is approved for 48 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible position. This position qualifies for a $5000 sign on bonus.
Partner with care providers and pharmacists to ensure that patient receives the needed medication accurately, safely, in accordance with all legal requirements and policies and in a professional and timely manner.
Under the direction of the pharmacist, receive prescription/ordersfrom electronic medical record, process manually or using the appropriate computer system and protocols, prepare drug therapy and/or dispense medication in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with all legal, regulatory agency and Fairview requirements.
Coordinate ordering, delivery of medications, supplies and equipment to patients and clinical areas as requested.
Participate inregulatory, quality assurance and process improvement activities and other projects as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Eligible to become registered asaPharmacy Technician with the MN State Board of Pharmacyandeligible to becomecertifiedwith the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
Nationally certified or become certified within12 months of employment.Certifying exams must have National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) accreditation, with examples including, Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam and The Exam for Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
